Why Amary?

We are Amy and Andriana—best friends of 20 years who believe that beautiful, historic places have the power to change your perspective. We built Amary because the perfect retreat isn't about becoming someone new. It's about coming home to yourself. We’ve spent years dreaming up this exact experience, and we have designed every detail to feel spacious and welcoming.

Hosted at the boutique Hôtel Les Messugues, our home for five nights is nestled among the historic olive groves and vineyards of the French Riviera.

Every day has a theme, a practice, and something to discover. Some days you move. Some days you rest. Some days you explore. And every evening, you eat well with people who get it.

No one's trying to transform you. No one's performing. It's just good yoga, real rest, and the light of the Côte d'Azur.

Only 12–15 spaces available to keep our group truly intimate.

Meet Your Hosts

Two real humans, not a corporate wellness franchise.

A

Amy

Certified Yoga Teacher

Amy is a certified Vinyasa yoga teacher based in the UK obsessed with intelligent sequencing, breath work, and the idea that yoga should feel good — not like punishment. She's trained extensively in alignment and pranayama. Her classes are thoughtful, grounded, and never precious. You'll leave feeling stronger and calmer.

When she's not teaching, she's exploring new places, reading, or planning the next yoga adventure.

An

Andriana

Communications Specialist

Andriana works in sustainability communications and lives on the Côte d'Azur. Obsessed with travelling, beachside yoga flows, and drinking great wine, she believes that a beautiful place changes everything.

Andriana is our trusty local guide and curator of our Riviera adventures, hand-picking the hidden gems, vineyards, and coastal paths that give this trip its magic. When she's not working on Amary, you'll find her beachside with a book and a chilled glass of rosé.

Your Days at Amary

A carefully balanced schedule designed around three fundamental pillars.

Rest Peaceful boutique hotel pool under warm sun

REST

Evening Yin and Restorative practices that remind you why you started yoga. Time by the pool. The option of a massage. Space to read, journal, or do nothing. This is the part most people need most.

Hôtel Les Messugues

This is the heart of why we chose here. It's a boutique hotel with only 18 rooms, set in the middle of olive groves and vineyards. The views look out onto the Maeght Foundation's woodland.

It's not a purpose-built "yoga resort" franchise. It's a real, family-run hotel that happens to be the perfect home for five days of rest, practice, and community. The staff is kind, the pool is clear, and the breakfasts are generous.

The Town Medieval hilltop town of Saint-Paul-de-Vence. Stone paths, art galleries, local bakeries.
Getting There 40 minutes from Nice Côte d'Azur airport. Easy drive. Transfer assistance available.
Sunlit hotel pool deck with olive groves

Who This Is For

You know your Vinyasa. You've taken classes regularly. Maybe you've been to one or two retreats. You like your yoga, but you're curious about going deeper.

You want to rest. The retreat isn't packed with workshops every hour. There are long afternoons where you choose what happens. That's intentional.

You love a good place. The location matters to you. Food matters. Views matter. So do we.

You like real humans. You're coming to a retreat led by two friends who've known each other for 20 years. We'll be there, eating dinner with you, asking how your day was.

FAQ & Details

Everything you need to know about the practice, logistics, and policies.

Yoga & Practice FAQ

I'm not an advanced yogi. Can I come? +

Absolutely. This retreat is designed for people with a regular or semi-regular yoga practice who are curious about going deeper. You know your Vinyasa. You love your mat. You're not a beginner, but you're not a pretzel either — and that's exactly who this is for. No performance. No pressure. Just good yoga and real rest.

What if I have an injury or physical limitation? +

Tell us when you book. Amy is highly trained in alignment and pranayama and can modify poses and will guide you safely. We're not here to push through pain — we're here to help you practice in a way that feels good.

Can I skip classes? +

Yes. If you want to sleep in instead of morning yoga, or skip a workshop to read by the pool, that's completely fine. This is your retreat. You choose.

How is Amary different from other yoga retreats? +

We do things differently here:

  • It's small: 12–15 people, not 50+
  • It's led by real people: Two best friends, not a corporation
  • It's balanced: Yoga + rest + exploration, not yoga every waking hour
  • It's in a real place: A beautiful hotel surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, not a purpose-built retreat centre
  • It's honest: We don't promise to transform you. We promise good yoga, real rest, and five days in a place that matters
  • The friendship is visible: That 20-year bond is your guarantee of care

Travel & Logistics FAQ

How do I get there? +

Fly to Nice Airport (the closest major airport). It's about a 40 minutes' drive to the hotel. You can rent a car, take a train, or arrange a shared taxi with other guests (we'll help coordinate). An optional airport transfer shuttle is available for €45 one way.

Do I need to speak French? +

No. English is widely spoken at the hotel. Saint-Paul-de-Vence is a historical tourist village with English-speaking staff. But learning a few basic French phrases always adds to the adventure!

Can I extend my stay? +

Yes. You can arrive early (before May 4) or stay after the retreat. Contact the hotel directly or ask us, and we'll help arrange the extra nights for you.

What should I pack? +
  • Yoga clothes and mat (or you can borrow one of ours)
  • Comfortable everyday clothes
  • One nicer outfit for our celebratory dinner out in the village
  • Swimsuit
  • Sun protection and comfortable walking shoes for cobblestones
  • Books, journals, or anything else to help you wind down
  • Medications you take regularly

The hotel provides towels, toiletries, hair dryers, and air conditioning in all rooms.

What's the weather like in May? +

Beautiful. Typically 20–24°C, sunny, with an occasional breeze. Warm enough for the pool. Rain is rare in May. Bring layers for cooler evenings, but mostly you'll be warm.

Is the retreat accessible? +

The hotel has some stairs, and the old medieval town of Saint-Paul-de-Vence has steep, narrow, and uneven cobblestone paths. Contact us if you have specific mobility concerns and we can discuss accommodations.

Booking & Community FAQ

Can I travel solo? +

Absolutely. Most of our guests come alone. You can book a private room for total solitude, or ask to be paired with another guest in a shared twin room. Either way, you're a welcomed part of the community.

What's the group like? +

12–15 people, mostly from the UK, all with some yoga experience. We have a mix of ages and backgrounds. Everyone comes for the same reason: to rest and deepen their practice. Friendships often happen naturally over shared meals and local vineyard picnics.

What if I need to cancel? +

Life happens. See our cancellation policy details in the Booking section. We recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers retreats — it's usually inexpensive and gives peace of mind.

What if I have dietary requirements? +

Tell us when you book. The hotel accommodates vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and most allergies. Let us know as soon as possible if you have new requirements — we want to keep you safe and nourished.

Ready to join us, or have questions?

We'd love to hear from you. Fill out the booking registration form, or drop us a line directly. We are here to make this process as easy and warm as possible.
